I grew up in Sunny South Florida. My family and I relocated to N.C. in early 2011. I graduated with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Since my early teens, I dedicated time to helping various programs in the community and serving on clubs that focused on food drives, collecting clothes and various outreach service needs. My choice to pursue a Social Work degree was innate. My career has touched a little on various roles within Foster Care, Crisis intervention, Domestic Violence, Smoking Cessation, Palliative Care, but primarily focused with Inpatient Medical (Pediatrics and Adults) and Behavioral Health population. I have been part of Duke Health for close to 10 years with more than 20 years in Healthcare. Joining Population Health is the icing to my career, as my work now focuses more on Outreach patient-centered goals aimed on helping to improve health outcomes with high-risk populations. I am looking forward to the scope of work serving all populations regardless of diagnosis or age to help them maintain their chronic health needs, address their barriers, and empower them to make choices for better self-management and healthier lifestyle.
I enjoy assisting individuals in pursuing optimal health and wellness goals. It is an honor to be able to share my knowledge and expertise to help someone overcome barriers and achieve their own definition of success! My experience of over 20 years working in the mental health and medical setting has prepared me to do just that. I obtained my undergraduate degree from WSSU and earned my graduate degree from UNC-CH. I am also a proud native of the Bull City!
I always knew I wanted to help others and ultimately graduated with my Master’s from Rutgers University in NJ. I have worked in pediatric hospitals and schools for most of my career. When I moved to NC, I worked as a case manager in an adult ICU and am very excited about returning to work with the pediatric population. As a care manager, I look forward to helping families navigate the health care system and improving their overall health.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, I am a city girl at heart. I attended New York University for my undergraduate degree, and I lived in NYC until 2005 before I moved south. Since relocating to the Triangle in 2006, I have since formed deep and loving roots in Durham. I began working in community behavioral health in 2007, obtained my Master’s in Social Work in 2013, and received my clinical license in 2015. I have had a variety of roles including clinical, administrative, and leadership, and through it all, my one constant has been my love for helping others to meet their goals and achieve holistic health. I am passionate about the work we are doing here at PHMO to help our patients achieve their health goals and overcome the barriers they face.
I have a diverse nursing background that includes pediatrics (hospital and home health), concurrent review, and over 12 years of Care Management experience. What I love most about my work is finding the right resources for patients who have the greatest needs.
I have 14 years of nursing experience with a background in General Surgery, PACU, Pre-Op, and Telephonic Behavioral Health (focusing on depression and anxiety). Nursing is my passion and I truly enjoy making a difference in the lives of those in which I provide care.
I grew up in New Jersey but lived in New York City for 10 years and Los Angeles for 14 years before moving to the Raleigh area in 2018. I received my Bachelors in Social Work from West Virginia University and my Masters in Social Work from New York University. I have over 20 years of experience working as a clinical social worker, with the majority of those years working in behavioral health. Prior to coming to DukeWELL, I worked in the Duke Emergency Department. I enjoy working with patients to identify barriers to care and help problem solve so they can be more successful in achieving the goals they have set for themselves. When I am not at work, I enjoy time with my family, photography, baking, and getting outside (hiking and riding my bike)!
I have 24 years of Nursing experience. I enjoy making a difference and helping any way I can!
