I am a Certified Pharmacy Technician currently enrolled in Durham Technical Community College and pursuing a degree in nursing. I have been in pharmacy since 2004, where I began working in a retail pharmacy as a cashier. An opportunity presented itself when I received the chance to move into a tech position. I became determined to succeed by teaching myself how to read sig codes, brand generic drugs and their uses, and complete basic pharmacy operations. I quickly recognized the joy associated with successfully working with all backgrounds of people and contributing to the well-being and health of the community. Since then, I’ve worked my way throughout various areas or pharmacy including inpatient, IV preparation, chemotherapy, medication administration, and some work with drug efficacy and safety. I am excited about the patient centered work that is being done through DukeWELL, and I look forward to contributing to the success of our patients.
