I have 24 years of Nursing experience. I enjoy making a difference and helping any way I can!
I have worked with individuals with diverse needs and life experiences for 20 years. My experience has taught me that every person is unique, and they are the experts in their own lives. This allows for a person-centered experience and an increased opportunity to inspire change.
Originally from South Florida, I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from The Florida State University. I moved to NC in 2004 with my husband and son, and I immediately fell in love with the fall and winter seasons (we don’t have them in Florida!). I have worked in the healthcare field since 2001, and I joined the Duke Health system in 2012. My passion has always been healthcare, specifically working closely with patients and families to assist in meeting their needs and reaching their goals. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, running, and traveling with my family.
I have been an RN for 22 years, earning my BSN from North Carolina A&T State University: "Go Aggies!" I've worked in a variety of settings and worn lots of hats from bedside nursing to management. I enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of my patients. I work hard to ensure I'm living my best life, and I strive to help my patients do the same.
I was born in Jamaica and relocated to New Jersey. I received my Bachelors Degree from North Carolina Central University and Masters Degree from Howard University. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor, and my career experience includes behavioral health services working with children, adolescents, and adults. I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, and spending time with my children and family. I have a passion for helping others to be their own best advocates.
I am a Native North Carolinian—go heels! Much of my work has been with individuals and families in direct mental health practice. I have worked with youth in residential care and pregnant and parenting teens, and most recently before coming to Duke, I managed a Behavioral Health Clinic specifically for Medicaid and Uninsured/Underinsured individuals. I received my Bachelors in Social Work from North Carolina State University and my Masters in Social Work from the UNC Chapel Hill. Working with DukeWell will allow me to continue my focus and practice to ensure individuals and families are able to get quality care and treatment without delay.
I was born and raised in Durham, NC. I am a graduate of Winston Salem State University School of Nursing. My nursing career includes experience in ambulatory care as well as geriatrics. I absolutely love being a nurse and advocating for my patients. My goal is for each patient that I encounter to have the best experience possible.
“I was born and raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan. I came to North Carolina in 1994 to earn my Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Augustine’s College (Go Falcons!) and I received my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University (Go Flames!). I’ve been blessed with a great group of friends and family. I enjoy making new memories with my loved ones through traveling, listening to music and dancing.”
