I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and have been living in Raleigh, NC since 2008. I’ve been a health care professional for over two decades. My passion for women’s health led me to attain my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York Health Science Center of Brooklyn with a specialty in Public Health Nursing. I have a strong clinical background in mdical surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, maternal & child health nursing, and community & public health nursing.
I volunteer as a member on the Community Advisory Board (CAB) for Nurse Family Partnership in Wake County. I’ve also served on the Choices for Children Coalition Team, which helps to get the word out in underserved communities about resources and services available to them to live productive and healthy lives.
I love travelling and listening to music. I am married to Mark A. McKay Sr, and we are the proud parents of four distinguished young men between the ages of 19 and 26, who have all been taught to embrace my favorite saying: “If Excellence is possible, then good is not enough.”
